Our Wedding in Vogue

We’re beyond honored to have our wedding featured by Vogue Weddings, and even more excited to finally share the story with you. Set on the island of Paros, Greece, where my family has spent summers for generations, the celebration brought together my Greek roots, my husband Mattias’ French heritage, and friends from all over the world. Every moment was deeply personal, creatively driven, and filled with music, dancing, and joy. This wasn’t just a wedding, it was a love letter to place, craftsmanship, and the journey that brought us here.

Friday’s welcome dinner unfolded at the tip of Naoussa’s old port, framed by fishing boats, whitewashed walls, and the electric energy that defines the harbor. It was one of my favorite nights of the weekend—equal parts elegant and wildly fun. The table linens were custom-designed in collaboration with my friend and Greek illustrator Marianna K., featuring playful Greek and French phrases, personal references, and nods to our shared love of food and language. As the sun dipped below the horizon, mezze, seafood, and flowing wine were served family-style, while napkins waved, “OPA!”s echoed, and dancing broke out between courses. The night blurred into one long celebration of love, friendship, and the magic of the Aegean.

On Saturday, guests arrived by traditional kaïkia boats to Agios Ioannis Detis, a Greek Orthodox monastery perched on the rocks across the bay—where I had photographed my very first clothing collection years earlier. I followed last, surrounded by family and friends, singing “Going to the Chapel” as we approached. From the water, cheers echoed from the hillside as Mattias waited at the altar, bouquet in hand, waving with both arms raised. The ceremony was joyful, loud, and deeply emotional—steeped in Greek tradition yet full of humor, music, and movement. At one point, we were even dancing mid-ceremony. It was sacred, celebratory, and completely unforgettable.
The celebration flowed down to Monastiri Beach Club just below the church, beginning with cocktails by the water before moving into a Greek-style family dinner and dancing in an ancient amphitheater lit by candlelight and antique urns. The tables were dressed in linens printed with artwork I had painted for my collection, in soft sand and clay tones inspired by the Aegean landscape. We wanted the night to feel like the dinner parties my mother hosted throughout my childhood—unfussy, overflowing with food, warmth, and joy. As the music swelled and the amphitheater filled with dancing guests, it felt less like a formal reception and more like the most beautiful, communal celebration of our lives.
